The Venue. Padova is a pleasant historical city, home to one of the oldest and most prestigious Universities in Europe. Now little more than 400 years ago, Galileo, came here as a Professor of Mathematics to spend, in his own words, "the 18 best years of my entire age". Venice is only 15 miles away, connected by frequent buses and trains. Bologna or Verona, Florence or Milan, Rome or Turin, are conveniently reached by train in one, two or four hours, respectively.

The conference sessions will be held at the Department of Information Engineering (Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'informazione) located in via Gradenigo 6/b, 35131 Padova, Italy.

The Marco Polo airport in Venice is the airport to reach Padova. The Milano Malpensa airport is more far away than Venice.

To reach Padova from the airport taxi is the best way. Please see Taxi Padova for information and reservations. Rates are approximately 25-30 euros per person for a shuttle (collective taxi) and 50-60 euros for an individual taxi. Alternatively, you can catch a bus:

  • SITA bus to get directly Padova - bus station.

From the Historical University building (Palazzo del Bo):
  1. start from via VIII Febbraio (Palazzo del Bo) towards Largo Europa (north) for 70 m
  2. turn right onto Via Anghinoni for 80 m
  3. turn left onto Via Zabarella for 90 m
  4. turn right onto Via Altinate for 550 m
  5. keep straight onto Via Belzoni for 500 m
  6. turn left onto Via Portello for 270 m
  7. turn right onto Via Gradenigo for 150 m
  8. DEI is on the right
From Hotel Igea and Via Ospedale

  1. take Via Ospedale towards Via Falloppio for 20m
  2. turn left onto Via Gabelli for 350 m
  3. turn right onto Via Altinate for 80 m
  4. go on from item 5 of the previous directions
As an alternative (walk only):
  1. take Via Ospedale towards Via Falloppio for 50 m
  2. keep straight onto Via S. Massimo for 300 m
  3. turn left onto Via Tiepolo for 50 m
