Fabio Crestani

Fabio Crestani is a full professor at the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Lugano (Università della Svizzera Italiana) since 2007.
Previously he was a Professor at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, a research fellow at the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley and at the University of Glasgow.

During 1992-97 he was Assistant Professor at the University of Padua, Italy, and was one of the initial members of the Information Management Systems research group.

Crestani has been active in research in Information Retrieval, Text Mining, and Digital Libraries since 1990.

His current main research interests lie in the modeling of the uncertainty, imprecision and vagueness of information access in unstructured or semi-structured documents.
